The Graphic and Web Design program at CÉGEP Heritage College gives students the technical and communication skills to create, write, and graphically illustrate a variety of publications, multimedia presentations, and web documents.

Students learn to manage print and electronic publication projects, interact effectively with clients, provide software support, and ensure the quality of written language. The program emphasizes integrated concepts and skills, the development of independent thinking and creativity, and the production of sophisticated publications. Graphic and Web Design offers first and second-year co-op placements in the areas of print and web design.

Student skills and competencies

  • Design, create and produce documents using Adobe InDesign
  • Design, create, and maintain accessible and responsive web sites with a common look and feel using HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript
  • Create illustrations using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop for use in print and on web sites
  • Plan, shoot and edit video projects for the web
  • Capture and edit dynamic and professional photographs using DSLR cameras, Adobe Lightroom, and Photoshop
  • Create 3D models, using applications such as Blender, for printing, graphics, and motion graphics
  • Produce documents using the MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
