Program takeaways

Employability

You will acquire practical skills that will prepare you for the workplace. Hands-on skills such as processing accounting transactions or learning business software applications make you workplace ready. Extensive use of team oriented exercises will help you develop your interpersonal skills.

Networking opportunities

A key feature of the program is the co-op component, where qualified students are placed in paid summer work terms after completing their first and second year of study. Access to a professional position will provide you with real-life work experience, greatly improving your ability to secure employment in your field after graduation. In addition, qualified students can apply to study in France in their fifth semester, providing an opportunity to obtain valuable international exposure to another culture.

Transferable life skills

You will develop valuable life-skills which will prepare you for the workplace or university studies. Transferable life-skills such as effective communication, teamwork, time management and adaptability will help you pursue lifelong learning and career goals.

Career and study opportunities

Our graduates can enter the workplace directly after graduation in a variety of business-related careers. Typical career options include:

  • Accounting technicians
  • Administrators
  • Marketing representatives
  • Financial analysts
  • Human-resource assistants
  • Small-business owners

If you prefer to continue your studies at university, you may receive credit for courses completed in the Accounting and Management Technology program, possibly shortening the time it will take you to obtain a university degree.

The AMT program provides you with both the technical skills and soft skills needed to succeed in your studies and in your future career. The teachers constantly incorporate their first-hand experience to courses, showing how much passion they have for student success. I will cherish my memories made at Heritage and am proud to have been a student here!
