Cégep Heritage College remains open. The College is committed to the health, safety and well-being of our students and staff. We are continuously monitoring the Coronavirus situation and will keep you updated as new information becomes available.

All Employees at Heritage (public sector employees): Today, the Government of Quebec stated that all public sector employees are required to self-isolate for a 14-day period after returning home from a trip abroad from all countries outside Canada. This directive only applies to employees returning to Quebec as of today March 12, 2020.

Students at Heritage (general population): The Government of Quebec recommends that all people returning from home from a trip from another country self-isolate for a period of 14 days and monitor their symptoms; however, it is not mandatory but it is recommended.

People who travelled abroad during the Quebec spring break during the week of March 2 – 8th are not required to self-isolate. However, these people must monitor their symptoms for 14 days following their return to Quebec. If symptoms arise, they must isolate themselves and call 1-877-644-4545.

In the event that students self-isolate, accommodations will be made to allow the students to continue with their studies. More information about this will be shared on Friday afternoon.

We would like to take this opportunity to stress that the former rules of washing your hands frequently, coughing in your elbow and seeing your health care professional if you are feeling ill continue to apply.

If you have come into contact with a person who is being tested for Coronavirus (COVID 19), it is recommended that you wait to learn of the results. If the result comes back positive, do not come to school prior to getting tested yourself.

The government recommends to avoid groups of 250 people or more, in cases such as social gatherings and social events. Classes will continue; however, events will be monitored on a case by case basis.

Discussions are being held regarding classes being given online in order to minimize disruption to the winter semester. Once a decision has been made, we will advise students.

Please continue monitoring our website, as all new information will be posted here first.
