Black History Month at Heritage College

Every February, people across Canada participate in Black History Month events and festivities that honour the legacy of Black people in Canada and their communities. No matter where you live, we invite all Canadians to learn more about these communities, and how they continue to help shape Canadian history. The theme for Black History Month 2024 is Black Excellence: A Heritage to Celebrate; a Future to Build. CÉGEP Heritage College is proud to celebrate Black History Month, an opportunity to engage our community in honouring the experiences, histories, contributions, and achievements of diverse Black communities. As a community, we are called to action to address and challenge anti-Black racism in all its forms, as we continue to model a community that values inclusion, diversity, and principles of social justice, not only in the month of February but throughout the year.

We encourage students and staff to participate in the upcoming Black History Month events at the College.
