Feeling overwhelmed by your finances or unsure how to plan for the future? This short, hands-on workshop at Cégep Heritage College will help you take the first step toward financial confidence. In just three hours, you'll learn how to build a budget, set realistic financial goals, and develop simple habits to improve your financial well-being. Whether you're managing household expenses, saving for a big purchase, or just want to feel more in control, this course offers practical, no-nonsense strategies for everyday money management.

Course Description

This 3-hour workshop will introduce participants to the basic concepts of financial planning.     Participants will have the opportunity to create a budget and a cash flow statement as well as create a tangible plan to work towards their financial goals.  Finally, participants will have the opportunity to work with financial planning tools that will assist in creating a comprehensive financial plan.

Topics covered include:

  • What is a Financial plan?
  • Setting financial goals
  • Creating a budget, cash flow and net worth statements
  • Managing credit
  • Saving and investing basics
  • Retirement planning
  • Choosing a financial advisor
