In order to be admitted to a program leading to an Attestation of College Studies (AEC), a candidate must satisfy the following three conditions:
1. hold a Secondary School Diploma (DES), Secondary School Diploma of Vocational Studies (DEP), or instruction deemed sufficient, AND meets any one of the following conditions:
(A) the person's studies have been interrupted for at least 2 consecutive terms or 1 school year; or,
(B) the person is covered by an agreement entered into between the College and an employer or by a government program of studies; or
(C) the person has pursued postsecondary studies for at least 1 year.
2. possess any program-specific prerequisites; and,
3. have sufficient knowledge of the English language, both written and oral*.
*Candidates may be admitted on condition that they upgrade their language skills. Testing may be required.
How to Apply
Deadline: no later than the published application deadline
All candidates must provide Continuing Education, by the published deadline, with ALL of the following:
1. a duly-completed application form,
2. payment of $30 non-refundable application fee,
3. proof of status in Canada (i.e. birth certificate, permanent residency); and,
4. academic history:
o final high school transcript showing that you graduated, if applicable;
o any postsecondary transcript(s), if applicable.
NOTES:
- ONLY students with a COMPLETE application file, containing all supporting documents, will be assessed for admission.
- Places are limited and vary per program.
- Applicants are strongly encouraged to apply sooner rather than later.
Fees
Application Fee
All students seeking admission to an AEC program, or to credit courses, must pay a $30.00 non-refundable application fee at the time of their application. This fee covers administrative costs.
Registration Fees
Fees charged will vary according to full- or part-time status, program of study, Québec residency and status in Canada.
Canadian Students and Permanent Residents
Canadian Citizens and Permanent Residents who register as full-time students AND who qualify as a Québec resident are currently paying $137.00 per semester (2013-2014). This does NOT include the cost of books.
