About the Club

The Bacchus Players is a student-centred, faculty-assisted drama club that is at the centre of cultural life at Heritage College.

The Bacchus Players typically mounts two major productions each year. This year, we are proud to present From the Sublime to the Ridiculous – An Evening of One-Act Plays (January), and The Lieutenant of Inishmore. For more information about these productions, including dates and ticket prices, please check out our 2012 Theatre Season.

A bit of History

Founded in October 1999, when director Samer Al Saber successfully mounted a production of Departures and Arrivals by Carol Shields, The Bacchus Players has since enjoyed 12 years of successful and continuous productions.

Recent past performances have included Six Characters in Search of an Author by Luigi Pirandello; William Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream; Neil Simon’s Plaza Suite; and The Blue Room by David Hare.  Student-directed productions have included Arsenic and Old Lace (dir. Julia Murphy-Buske); The Glass Menagerie (dir. Ashley Latour); The Cripple of Inishmaan (dir. Miranda Abrams); and A Midsummer Night’s Dream (dir. Christina Furino).
