Application Guide

This step-by-step application guide also provides you with information on the deadlines you must respect, and the approximate time required to process your request.

Note of caution: The time periods identified in Steps 3-5, are estimates only. A variety of factors such as incomplete documentation, incorrect information, and/or analysis of files and/or other circumstances may affect the specific amount of time required to process your application. Cégep Heritage College has no control over, and cannot be held responsible for such delays.

Step 1 - Apply to Cégep Heritage College

The Service régional d’admission du Montréal métropolitain (SRAM) is responsible for processing admission requests to Cégep Heritage College.


Step 2 - English Language Assessment

English Language Assessment

Before you are accepted for admission to Cégep Heritage College, you must provide proof of sufficient knowledge of English. You must submit your test result at the time of your request for admission. You must take into account that tests may be scheduled at predetermined dates. Consult the list of approved language tests

Step 3 - Official Letter of Acceptance

If accepted for admission, you will receive an Official Letter of Acceptance from Heritage College, conditional upon you obtaining a Québec Certificate of Acceptance for Studies (Step 4) and a Study Permit (Step 5).

You will also receive instructions to confirm your offer of admission to the College. You must confirm your admission as instructed in the documents.

Estimated time:Can take 3-8 weeks for the admission decision. You can expect additional time to receive your letter by mail.


Step 4 - Certificate of Acceptance for Studies

Once you receive your Official Letter of Acceptance, apply for a
Québec Certificate of Acceptance for Studies issued by the Government of Québec.

This link will take you to the Government of Québec Web site. There, you will find the information and application forms you will need in order to apply.

Estimated time:Can take 6-8 weeks before you receive your authorization.


Step 5 - Study Permit

Once you receive your Québec Certificate of Acceptance for Studies, apply for a Study Permit issued by the Government of Canada.

Note: If you already have a Study Permit issued to you when studying in another province, you will need to re-apply for it in order to study in Québec.

Estimated time:Can take 2-8 weeks before you receive your authorization.
Verify the processing times for your country.


Step 6 - Insurance

You must provide proof of health and hospitalization insurance valid as of the first day of class in order to study at the College. Consult the Orientation Guide for International Students on how to obtain adequate coverage.


Step 7 - Required Documents

You will need to submit the following required valid documents to the College before your first day of class: Certificat d’acceoptation du Québec (step 4), your Study Permit (step 5) and your insurance (step 6). If you are not able to obtain all of the required documents and authorizations by the deadline indicated in your offer of admission, you will not be permitted to study at the College for the semester. If you are not able to obtain all of the required documents and authorizations in time, you will not be permitted to study at College in the fall. You will need to re-apply for the following year. The documents must be valid and cover the entire semester.

You will also need to pay all fees to access your schedule. Your schedule will be accessible 5 working days before the first day if class.
