About the Development Fund
The Heritage College Development Fund was
established in June, 1996. It became a registered charity effective
May 1, 1997 and was incorporated as a corporation on June 10,
1997. As a duly-registered charitable organization, the Development
Fund is empowered to issue receipts for income tax purposes.
The purpose of this foundation is to solicit and
administer funds through various fundraising activities in order
to benefit the educational mission of Heritage College. The current
focus of the foundation is the gymnasium construction project
and its development. Future directions of the foundation will
include advancements in technology and library collection development.
Examples of Past Activities and Initiatives
Members of the Heritage College Development Fund are pleased to
announce that a total of $53,000 has been donated to Heritage
College.
In 2002-2003, two major fundraising events (i.e. Walk
/ Run Around the Clock and Live / Silent Auction) were organized
by the Development Fund. Through your support and efforts, we
raised $33,000.This money was donated to Heritage College to assist
with the purchase of equipment for the gymnasium complex and the
Continuing Education wing.The following is a list of the major
items that were purchased with the $33,000 that was raised by
the Development Fund in

In 2003-2004, two major fundraising events (i.e. Walk

to Heritage College to assist with the purchase of equipment for
the gymnasium complex and the auditorium.The following is a list
of the major items that were purchased with the $20,000 that was
raised by the Development Fund in 2003-2004.

To date, donations to the Fund have been made on
behalf of the Non-Teaching Professional Union as well as the Student
Associations of 1995/1996 and 1996/1997. Memorial donations were
initiated by the family of Howie Hyland, a former faculty member
of Physical Education who died in 1997. Additional memorial donations
have been received in memory of numerous past members of the Heritage
College community. The Heritage College Development Fund filed
its first annual income tax return on June 30, 1998.
